A little bit about SwimFin
 |
We met Kevin Moseley at our home in the summer 2006 when he was showing interested people the first prototype of the SwimFin. We could definitely see the potential and were one of the first companies take delivery of the Swimfin when it was launched early 2008.
Kevin is a self-employed swimming instructor and he used to make a fin out of old swimming floats at the end of his lessons... just for fun for the children. This was 20 years ago. Dragons Den liked SwimFin so much they wanted a share of the business and finally Kevin decided to self-fund the development.
Before production, the SwimFin has had to be vigorously tested to ensure it conforms to world-wide safety standards.

How the SwimFin works
Please use under adult supervision. The EN13138 directive covers Buoyant aids to swimming meaning they are suitable for active users in swimming pools and where the wearer is within their depth. They are not designed to be a life jacket; nor are they are buoyancy aid for activities such as windsurfing, or in-shore sailing.
We like these in our swim school and have had wonderful progressions with the children. What we would say is that every child is different and some require a bit more time and others require a bit more focus. Toys and tasks help with focus, while on the other hand lots of love, practise, praise, and patience help with confidence.
